Remedial Massage
What is Remedial Massage?
Remedial massage utilises many techniques, including remedial massage, to address a wide range of soft tissue problems. The aim is to reduce pain and tension by releasing pressure of those muscles in spasm, and to address tendon and ligament complaints. Treatments can dramatically reduce pain and discomfort and assist the body’s natural healing process. Whether your pain is stress or work related, or you suffered an injury from work or leisure, around the house or in sports, remedial therapy can assist people of all ages. What to expect when you first visit a Remedial Massage Therapist
You will be asked for your medical history details on your first visit. This helps determine your treatment priorities. If you have a specific requirement, e.g. you want a full body overhaul, let your therapist know. If your treatment is an attempt to break the stress cycle, then great choice! Easing out the main areas of tightness or pain and re-alignment is our priority.
Discuss this all with your therapist. No doubt, your problems have built up over time, so allow for more than one or two treatments to help overcome them. Most massage techniques require that you be at least partially undressed, but all areas of the body except the part being worked on are covered with towels. Let your practitioner know if you are experiencing too much pain. Therapists love feedback, so enjoy your treatment and let your therapist know your results
Remedial Massage sessions are covered by most major health funds.
